Marcus Elgin, Managing Director
Marcus Elgin is the founder of AAG. He has been involved in agribusiness – with his own money – since 1985, and consulting since 1989. Marcus combines a fundamental understanding of business, investments and agricultural production with comprehensive leadership, business management and financial skills. Marcus is an Authorised Representative for AAG’s Investment Advisers Licence and is PS146 qualified through the Securities Institute of Australia. Marcus is a certified practicing agriculturalist, Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology and a graduate of the Royal Military College Duntroon.
Tim Lee, Director
Tim was appointed an Executive Director of AAG on 1 January 2007 and continues to head up AAG's research section which undertakes investment research, feasibility studies, due diligence studies, market research, and financial modelling. Tim started his employment with AAG in January 2000 and combines an Honours Degree in Forestry with a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science. Tim is an Authorised Representative for AAG’s Investment Advisers Licence and is PS146 qualified through the Securities Institute of Australia . Tim is a member of the Institute of Foresters Australia , and is a recognised authority on the performance of the Agri Managed Investments sector.
Debbie Hardwick, Executive Assistant/Office Manager
Debbie administratively supports the AAG consulting team and is the AAG Office Manager. She has first line responsibility for IT functions. Debbie has extensive experience in small business, hospitality, marketing and the cosmetics industry.
Sandy Holdsworth, Accounts Manager
Sandy Holdsworth is responsible for AAG accounts, financial recording and reporting. She provides essential client support in such roles as cash flow and draft financial statement preparation, as well as historical performance analysis.
Sally Ryan , Senior Consultant
Sally joined AAG in February 2003 after completing a Bachelor Degree in Agricultural Science at the University of Melbourne . She is a highly skilled financial modeller with strong research and market analysis skills, demonstrating a capacity to bring projects closer to success. She is still involved in her family farm at Berrigan, NSW which specialises in rice, cereal crops and beef cattle and includes an intensive 4000 head piggery.
Steve Jarrott , Senior Investment Analyst
Steve Jarrott joined AAG late in 2002. He has a Bachelor Degree in Agriculture at the University of Melbourne with major studies in Agribusiness and is currently studying a Graduate Diploma in Investment and Finance. Steve's core practical experience is in livestock and cropping and he has an ongoing involvement in his family's agricultural interests based at Conargo, NSW, which includes cereal and beef production. This skill set, combined with a comprehensive understanding of mainstream investment options and how they compare to agribusiness and agricultural property, provide him with a strong base in his role of analyzing, advising and managing agricultural investments. Steve is also heavily involved in the operational management of Stocklease Pty Ltd.
James Taylor , Group Marketing and Communications Manager
James holds a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) from Swinburne University and is an active committee member of the Australian Marketing Institute’s ‘Bright Sparks’ program. James brings with him experience in a range of areas including; market research, business development, and marketing communications. James has a background in agriculture, and vast experience over a number of industries, coupled with his passion for farming, food and an absolute commitment to Australian grown produce.
Stephen Commadeur, Research Analyst
Stephen joins AAG in August 2005 and will complete a degree in Agriculture at Melbourne University in the same year. Stephen has a strong agricultural background in dairy and fruit, and has worked hands on in the agri logistics area. Passionate, direct and focussed, Stephen will add his skills to the work of the Research section.
